This is the day that we drove to a beach called Mata de Uvas. We went with Abel, Nandi, Nancy, Brenda, Karen, and María. It was about an hour away from downtown Veracruz. We were seriously the only people on that beach until the fisherman came in from fishing. If you put your hands down in the ocean you would pull out handfuls of live sand dollars. The boys had fun collecting them and then throwing them back into the ocean. Isabel also really took a liking to the beach, which is good because we went to a different beach almost every day.

Here is an example of what you can catch if you go deep sea fishing just off the coast. Can you believe that? It makes fishing in Utah seem a little pointless.

This is Abel cleaning some fish that we took back home for dinner. Que rico!

This is the famous Malecón of "el puerto de Veracruz." As you are walking people start calling "GÜERO, GÜERA, GÜERO, GÜERA" (that's the word for someone with white skin). They sell nieves, which is like a mix between ice cream and italian ice. Really yummy!
