Days of '47 - Children's Parade

This year, our stake got to participate in the Children's Parade, which is held in Salt Lake City the Saturday before the 24th of July.  At the beginning of the parade, a little Union Pacific train could be seen weaving back and forth across the street.  It was so cute!

Since I have a calling in the Primary, I walked in the parade with Lehonti and Limhi.  That left Miss Isabel and her Papa to take pictures of all the excitement.  They followed us the entire route from the sideline and waved to us and we walked!

Our stake's parade float was about pioneers past, present, and future.  Lehonti and Limhi were in their white shirts and ties representing missionaries of the future.  Lehonti was a trooper with his walker and was a real ham waving to all the spectators.  Both boys enjoyed the fun, even though it was more than 100 degrees outside and we were walking on asphalt the whole way.

At the end of the parade route, there was a free family gathering for the parade participants.  We watched a Polynesian drum and dance group.  The boys even got a chance to play the big drums.  While we ate lunch, we noticed that there were Star Wars charcters walking around and Limhi just had to have his picture taken!
