On Saturday, December 11th, we decided to brave the crowds downtown and see the lights! Since it was fairly warm that night (in the 40s) it was SUPER crowded. Families were parking all over Salt Lake City (many illegally, including us) just to join in the fun! We all enjoyed the lights and the nativity scenes from different countries. And, we snapped pictures like crazy!
Here you can see the Salt Lake City Temple in the background. Isn't it pretty?
In the warmer months, the kids like to throw pennies in the water pools. But, it was too cold to that in December. There is something special about Temple Square during the Christmas season...almost magical...with all the lights!
Unfortunately, Isabel had fallen asleep in the car and was pretty cranky when we first got to Temple Square. This was the first picture she would grace us with that night. She looks thrilled to be there.
The first picture where everyone is smiling and looking and the camera...and I had the wrong setting on. It looks like the Temple is going up in flames in the background. Oops!
Ernesto and I really wanted a picture of just the two of us. But with it as crowded as it was, we weren't sure how we would manage that and 3 kids at the same time. So, Limhi took a few of us with the Temple in the background. You wouldn't even know it was a 7-year-old taking this shot!
We went inside the Tabernacle for a few minutes. The third shot down is Lehonti taking a picture of the rest of us! We sure had a great evening together as a family...Merry Christmas!!!!!
